Neo Tribe Kali teaches all its students how to use, understand and appreciate all types of various knives, swords, eged weapons and bladework.If there was to be only one particular blade of choice recommended, it would be the Kerambit. The Kerambit has also been known under various spellings such as Karambit or Kerampit, etc. In order to be fully versed in the entire Neo Tribe Kali curriculum of Kerambit training, very serious and lengthy time would be involved. Experience though has proven that a very effective and strong method of use can be learned very quickly in Neo Tribe Kali, after just a few lessons. It is not necessary to learn the entire curriculum, unless one wishes to truly become expert in Kerambit use.

For personal protection and daily carry and use, Neo Tribe Kali promotes smaller designs of single edge Kerambits. The smaller sized blade length allows for easier carry, and visually is far less "threatening" in appearance for those times when the general public might view a practitioner using his or her knife for utilitarian purposes. In addition, the smaller sized blade makes sheathing considerations markedly easier to produce and manufacture. Finally, while it is possible to inflict lethal harm with a small blade, an individual would have to seriously have intent to do so. There is much less likelihood of a knife practitioner to inadvertantly admininster a lethal strike with a smaller blade. Neo Tribe Kali takes very seriously the ideal that responsibility must accompany the pursuit of knowledge and development of blade skills.

In Neo Tribe Kali, there are 9 levels of understanding and practice in the use of a Kerambit. There are very few such complete systems of Kerambit training readily available in the USA. Neo Tribe Kali Kerambit training focuses heavily upon proper body mechanics, alignment, strength, and application of the Kerambit in conjunction with all the other tools developed within Kali training.

As a martial arts tool, Kerambit training assists students in learning to move fluidly, and smoothly. They also bring the modern day student of the martial arts in touch with different cultures and experiences. All students should always be aware of the limitations of a given blade design, and be aware that it is always important to follow all laws and legal statutes in the areas in which they live and frequent. Kerambits are a wonderful tool and training device, and come with a deep history and tradition.
